AG-EXPO - Held March 15th, 2010, more than 50 agriculture and other businesses display their products at this event co-hosted by Adair County Farm Bureau and Greenfield Chamber/Main Street and Development. A free meal is served by the Pork, Beef, and Lamb producers.




CHAMBER/MAIN STREET FESTIVAL - Greenfield Chamber/Main Street takes it's turn at hosting the Thursday evening Farmers' Market in August. Plan on a meal and an uniquely fun event. Past events have included a Hamball Festival, Rhubard Festival, Zucchini Festival, and Please Past the Pasta!

COUNTY FAIR - A great traditional County fair held at the end of July, with 4-H exhibits and grand stand events.

IOWA AVIATION MUSEUM FLY IN - Come for breakfast by air or by ground. Enjoy the museum and visit with those that flew in from surrounding states. Held on Sunday in late August.

HALLOWEEN - Kids Spook the Loop as the show off the costumes on their walk around the square. They then head to the Fire Station for food and the Chamber building for treats and games sponsored by the Boy Scouts. A fun, safe Halloween!

I SPY A BANKER - A special promotion sponsored by First National Bank on Thursdays throughout the fall. Sign up at the featured business for an opportunity to win Greenfield Greenbacks.

IOWA AVIATION HALL OF FAME BANQUET - This annual event honors aviators with an Iowa connection. Usually held in October.

LEGISLATIVE COFFEES - A great time to get the latest updates and to ask questions of our local legislators. Meetings held February through March.

OPERA HOUSE / CRP VALENTINE EVENT - Don't miss out on the fun and food during this February weekend around Valentine's Day. The Cumberland Rose Players, the local theater group, perform Friday, Saturday, & Sunday at the E. E. Warren Opera House on the square. Saturday night is a dinner theater. The other two performances include snacks or desserts.

PANCAKE DAY - Held in conjunction with Homecoming events of Nodaway Valley High School, this annual pancake supper begins around 4:30 on Thursday evening. It is followed by the Homecoming parade, pep rally, and Queen & King announcements.

PENTEL ART EXHIBIT - This annual international children's art display has been shown in the fall at the E. E. Warren Opera House for many years. It features art work from children around the world, usually including some of our local award winners.

CITY-WIDE GARAGE SALES - Held in September in connection with the Swap Meet. Lots of sales all over town as well as on the square.

SWAP MEET - The Early Wheels of Iowa bring this event to the Adair County Fair Grounds in September. Over 1,000 venders cover the grounds. Free admission. City-wide garage sales are also going on in town.

CHRISTMAS - The business Open House and Tasty Treats kickoff this busy season in Greenfield early in November. Visit the stores and get the recipe for the special treat offered at each location. Then, on the Friday after Thanksgiving, don't miss the lighted Christmas Parade followed by Santa's visit. Watch for other specials during December.
